"Coilover" damper kits are adjustable for height but sometimes the collars get stuck or seized....
After you make sure that you are turning the collars in the correct directions:
- Use a long wrench or pipe on the supplied spanner wrench to get more leverage.
- Hammer the spanners to knock them loose.
- Be careful with heat. A torch can be useful to loosen seized hardware, but these are parts with sensitive internals that are under gas pressure. Head the collars, not the damper body.
- As a last resort, you can cut stock collars off and get replacements. Actually, get the replacements first then cut them off.
