Ordering online is an automated system that receives your payments automatically, and refunds are all handled manually. So the refund process takes a little more time than placing an order does.
Here is a little more on how refunds are handled once you've been approved for a return.
- Refunds: A refund is when we send money back to you. Refunds can take a few days for Heeltoe to process. Once processed, depending on your payment method, money can take a day or two longer to hit your account.
- Credits: A credit is when we keep the money and save it for you to use in our store later. Credits (returns for store credit) will post faster for more immediate use on a new purchase. Credit with Heeltoe does not expire.
Refunds or credits on a returned part require the part to be delivered to Heeltoe's location in Oregon, then anywhere from 1 to 5 days after delivery (depending on our workload at the time) for our returns department to receive the part, inspect it, and approve the return.
NOTE: A shipment being DELIVERED is different from a shipment being RECEIVED. This may seem weird to an individual who receives an item in their hands very soon after it is delivered. It is common in warehouses to get massive shipments, and it can take a day or more to confirm receipt of a single box that was delivered.
The approval goes to accounting for refund or credit processing which can take another day. In general, if you return a part you should see a notification that the refund or credit was processed within 1-5 business days of the part being delivered back to Heeltoe.
If at any time it seems like your refund or credit is taking too long (as in, more than 5 days after the part has been delivered back to us), please don't hesitate to reach out to Heeltoe for support. We're in your corner!
After the refund has been processed, your original payment method with receive the funds:
- Credit cards: Money shows on account about 1-3 business days after we process.
- PayPal Payments: Money posts to your PayPal balance within a few minutes after we process.
- Affirm Payments: Money posts back to your Affirm account balance within a few minutes. If your refund exceeds your Affirm balance, the money will be routed back to your bank account which can take 1-3 business days after we process.
Credits are applied when your return is not eligible for a refund. Credit can also be known as a store credit; money we hold that is available for you to use on a future purchase. We handle store credit online by issuing you a e-Gift Certificate. Once issued, the credit is ready for immediate use on Heeltoeauto.com for a new purchase. Credits do not expire.
Additional note related to core refunds:
Core refunds are handled the same way as normal refunds are, although cores sometimes need more thorough inspection before approval for refund is issued. We recommend allowing 3-5 business days after a core is delivered for inspection and refund.
